Has anyone taken Desyrel (Trazodone) for insomnia? How was your experience with side effects?
I've been struggling with insomnia for a while now and my doctor prescribed Desyrel 100mg Tablets. I've read that it's often used off-label for insomnia due to its sedating effects. I'm a bit nervous about the side effects, especially the serious ones like serotonin syndrome or priapism. Has anyone here taken Desyrel for sleep issues? How was your experience with it? Did you encounter any of the side effects mentioned? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. Also, if you've taken this for depression, I'd love to hear about that experience as well. I took Desyrel for a few months for insomnia and it worked wonders. I only experienced some dizziness and dry mouth, but nothing serious. Just be careful with the dosage, it can be potent.
I took Desyrel for a short period and it worked great, but I had some really weird dreams. Nothing too disturbing, just weird.
I've heard horror stories about serotonin syndrome. If you start feeling really confused or have a high fever, go to the hospital immediately.
I've been on Desyrel for a while and it's been great for my mood and sleep. Just make sure to take it at night because it will knock you out.
Be careful with alcohol while on this med. It can enhance the sedating effects and you might wake up with a nasty hangover.
Desyrel helped me sleep, but I gained a bit of weight. Nothing crazy, but it's something to be aware of.
