I've been considering switching to Merzee 1/20 Capsules 28s for birth control. It not only combines estrogen and progestin to prevent pregnancy but also contains iron to prevent iron deficiency anemia. I'm curious about anyone's personal experiences with this medication. Have you had any severe or mild side effects? Has it been effective? Any tips or advice on what to expect? I want to arm myself with as much information as possible before making the switch. Thanks!

I was on this for about 6 months. The side effects were hotter than the summer heat. Spotting was a nightmare and I had periods of major depression. I switched to a different pill and everything has been fine.

I switched from a different birth control pill to Merzee 1/20 and I couldn't be happier. I had really bad acne from the previous pill and since I switched to Merzee it’s been much better. I did have a bout of mood swings and depression at first, but it got better after a couple of months. I would recommend it if you struggle with acne, period cramps and headaches. However, everyone is different and it's really important to pay close attention to how your body responds and discuss it with your doctor.

I switched to Merzee 1/20 a few months back from a different brand after experiencing severe headaches and migraines which I believe were attributed to the different brand of birth control pill. Since the switch I’ve had minimal side effects and no headaches! I did experience some breast tenderness, but it went away after a couple of weeks. I’ve also noticed some dark patches of skin on my face, but using sunscreen and wearing a hat has helped a lot. I'd recommend it to anyone struggling with similar issues.

This is a good thread. I appreciate the information and honesty. I'm trying to decide which birth control to use and these experiences are super helpful.

I've had a rough experience with Merzee 1/20. I had a lot of spotting, severe mood swings, and nausea. I didn't even want to eat food or drink water for days and even had to skip work. My doctor said it wasn't uncommon, but it was too much for me. My plan is to try something else next month.

I can only share my experience. I've been taking Merzee for a while and the only issue I've had is some spotting and nausea at first. But, my periods are lighter and I've noticed that my skin is much clearer, which is a big plus for me. For those considering this pill, I’d advise you to keep an eye on the side effects and consult your doctor if you notice anything that's really bothering you. It’s always a wise idea to ask about the best options for you based on your health profile and medical history.

Is it me or is ‘pill’ not a great name for birth control? 😂

I've been on Merzee 1/20 for a few months and it's been great so far. No major side effects, just some lightheadedness occasionally. I love that it has iron in it because I've struggled with anemia in the past. I think it's worth a try if you're looking for a new pill. Keep in mind though that my experience may not be reflective of other people. I've also dealt with many other medications which may have different effects on me than on others.
