Has anyone taken Nifedipine 60mg ER (XL/OS) Tablet for high blood pressure? What was your experience?
I've recently been prescribed Nifedipine 60mg ER (XL/OS) Tablet for hypertension. I'm curious to hear from others who have taken this medication. How effective was it for you in lowering your blood pressure? Did you experience any side effects? I've heard it can cause swelling in the ankles and feet, is that true? Additionally, I'd love to know if anyone has successfully managed their blood pressure with just this medication or if it's typically used in conjunction with others. Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

On the flip side, this medication doesn't seem to have any effect on my blood pressure. My doctor mentioned that it might not be the right fit for everyone.
One thing I noticed is that the dosage can be tricky. Don't hesitate to talk to your doctor if you think it's not working right.
I'd say give it a shot. My doc said the side effects should lessen over time, and it has for me. Always great to hear about others experiences though.
I took this for a while and it worked great, but my doctor switched me to something else because of insurance issues. Just a heads-up that might be something to consider.
I'm glad I found this thread. I'm about to start this medication and it's nice to hear some real experiences. Thanks everyone!
I've been on Nifedipine for a few months now. It's done wonders for my blood pressure, but yeah, the ankle swelling is real. Make sure to elevate your feet when you can!
I was on it for a while but switched to another medication because of the side effects. It's definitely worth discussing with your doctor if you experience anything unpleasant.
I've seen a lot of benefits from nifedipine, but remember that your experience can be very different. It's always a good idea to consult your doctor on the best course of treatment for you.
