I've recently been prescribed Phenoxybenzamine 10mg Capsules to manage my pheochromocytoma. I've heard that it can cause some pretty severe side effects, especially dizziness when standing up. Has anyone else taken this medication? I'd love to hear about your experiences, both good and bad. What were the side effects like? Did you have to make any lifestyle changes to accommodate them? My doctor mentioned that the symptoms should subside after a while, but I'm still a bit nervous. Any tips on how to manage them would be greatly appreciated.

I can’t believe this medication is still around with all its side effects. I mean, the benefits are great, but I’m glad I won’t have to take it.

I've been on Phenoxybenzamine for about 6 months now. The dizziness was definitely an issue at first, but it's much better now. I found that getting up slowly really helped. Also, I started doing some light exercises regularly. It’s hard to tell if the exercise helped, it’s just a hunch. However, I did notice a difference when I started taking it alongside some herbal supplements (though I'm sure my doctor isn't happy about that).

The constricted pupils were actually the most disturbing for me. It made my vision really blurry, and I had to wear glasses constantly, which is something I never had to do before. It really affected my day to day life.

Drowsiness was the worst for me. I felt like I was in a constant haze. It was impossible to do any work without feeling sleepy. I had to adjust my schedule completely and take naps in the afternoon.

Phenoxybenzamine really is a strange drug. It's not just the side effects, it's weird that it's so specific to pheochromocytoma. There are a few drugs I've taken that have had to be taken care of like this. I've also had some issues with it. For depression and a lot of other things. I mean, it is what it is.
