I'm curious about Prevymis (Letermovir), an antiviral medication used to prevent cytomegalovirus (CMV) in stem cell transplant patients. I've heard it can have some serious side effects, so I'm looking to hear from anyone who has taken it. What was your experience like? How did you handle the side effects if you encountered any? Any tips for those considering this medication? Thanks!

Honestly, I wish I had this option when I was going through my transplant. The fact that this drug can stop CMV is amazing and probably saved more than a few people.

I've heard horror stories about CMV, so any medication that can prevent it is worth it to me. Just make sure you're aware of the side effects and stay in close contact with your healthcare team!

Felt terrible when I started taking it but the side effects went away after a little while. Looked up the side effects and it turns out it's normal. I know it's not a fun experience but it's worth it to avoid CMV.

It's terrifying to think about the potential side effects, but I've heard a lot of good things from my transplant coordinator about how well Prevymis works. I'll be taking it after my transplant next month, so wish me luck!

I took Prevymis after my transplant and it was a game-changer. No side effects for me, thank goodness. Just make sure to keep an eye out for any unusual symptoms and stay in close contact with your doctor.
