Has Anyone Taken Prolixin 10mg Tablets for Schizophrenia? Share Your Experiences and Side Effects
I've been prescribed Prolixin 10mg tablets for my schizophrenia and I'm feeling a bit nervous about the side effects. Has anyone else taken this medication? I'd love to hear about your experiences, both good and bad. How did it help with symptoms like hallucinations and delusions? What side effects did you encounter, and how did you manage them? I want to make sure I'm prepared for anything. Also, I'm curious to know how strictly you had to follow the prescription regimen. Thanks in advance for your insights!

Give it a shot, but definitely talk to your doctor about everything. What helped me was to be really proactive about my health and keep in constant communication with my psychiatrist about anything that came up. He was super supportive and helped me manage the side effects. I think it's really important to have that support system in place, definitely would not have made it through without him.
Be very careful with this med. I had a severe allergic reaction and ended up in the ER. Thankfully, my doctor switched me to something else quickly. I had no idea how bad the side effects could be; it's crazy. Don't mess around with these things, even if they're prescribed by a doctor. Kind of scary.
I had some weird dreams too, but nothing too bad. I think the biggest thing for me was the constipation. I wish I had a better solution for it, just wasn't pleasant.
Sorry to hear about the issues with this medication. I had a pretty good experience with it. I felt like it definitely helped manage my symptoms, and I didn't have any major side effects. I was actually really worried about it before I started, but it turned out to be okay
I've been on Prolixin for a few months now, and it's been a game-changer for me. My hallucinations have decreased significantly, but I did experience some restlessness and dry mouth at first. Drinking lots of water helped with the dry mouth.
I find it has a lot of weird side effects, but I think it's worth it to feel more stable. I had a lot of issues with balance, though, which was scary. Kind of glad I'm not driving or anything crazy, just lots of sitting inside these days. Actually, what does the constipation feel like for anyone else, though? Or is it just me?
I didn't have any major issues with Prolixin, but I did feel really drowsy at first. It got better over time, though, and I'm glad I stuck with it. It's helped me feel more like myself, which I am super grateful for.
My mom was on this and it helped her a lot, but I had nightmares. It was horrible, and she ended up going back to her old prescription. We're still trying to figure everything out, but it was a rough patch.
Let's be real, taking any medication for mental health issues is a bit of a crapshoot. But seriously, if you can stick it out and manage, it's worth it to be able to function better. But I think it's good to have realistic expectations about side effects. Please be careful and don't have kids around when you take these, though. I think it's really good to have a plan for how to deal with side effects if they come up. Whether it's exercise or medication or whatever.
I've been on Prolixin for a while, but I did notice some weight gain, which was frustrating. I started a regular exercise routine, and it helped a bit. But honestly, the benefits for my mental health far outweighed the side effects for me.
