I've been struggling with depression for a while now and my doctor just prescribed me Protriptyline 10mg Tablets. I've heard it's a bit different from other antidepressants, especially because it's known for being more activating. Has anyone here taken it? What was your experience like? How long did it take to feel any effects? I'd really appreciate some insights before I start taking it. Also, are the side effects as bad as everyone says? What should I prepare for?

I was on Protriptyline for a few months. It did help with my energy levels, but the side effects were tough to deal with, especially the dry mouth and dizziness.

I know someone who developed a low blood pressure condition while on Protriptyline. It’s scary stuff... I'd definitely keep an eye on any symptoms.

I didn't have a great experience with it. I felt more anxious and had some weird dreams. I think it was the increased energy that made me feel this way. I ended up switching to something else.

Yeah, the weight gain was a bummer... but I'm not really sure if that was from the drug. My doctor said that some people might gain weight from Protriptyline, but we weren't sure if that was the case for me. It's worth talking to your doctor about before you start taking it.

I hated the weight gain! But I know it works really well for some people. It's all about finding what works for you, right?
