I've been prescribed Sodium Chloride 1gm Tablets to manage electrolyte imbalances caused by excessive sweating. I've heard that while rare, these tablets can cause severe side effects. Has anyone else had experience with them? I'm particularly concerned about the allergic reactions and electrolyte problems mentioned. Are these side effects as serious as they sound, or is it mostly just a scare tactic?

Only had the upset stomach but that was it. I talked to my doc, and we decided I needed a lower dose. So far, everything has been fine

I didn't realize these could be dangerous. I've been taking them for a while and never knew about the potential for severe side effects. I'll definitely keep an eye out for those symptoms now.

I feel like these comments are scaring me more than the actual side effects would. I mean, how rare are we talking about here? A 1 in a million chance or what?

I had a really bad reaction to these. I started getting muscle cramps and feeling really weak. I thought I was having a heart attack. I called the doctor and he swapped me to a different salt tablet. Thanks for posting! You might want to talk to your doctor about what you are taking.

As someone who's had severe allergies, I can tell you that the allergic reaction symptoms are no joke. If you start feeling any of those, get to a hospital ASAP.
