I've been prescribed Thioridazine 50mg Tablets for my schizophrenia, and I'm a bit nervous about the potential side effects, especially the cardiovascular ones. I've read that it's an older medication and is usually used when other treatments haven't worked. Has anyone else taken this medication? I'd love to hear about your experiences, both good and bad. What side effects did you encounter, and how did you manage them? Any tips for dealing with the more serious side effects like neuroleptic malignant syndrome or tardive dyskinesia would be greatly appreciated.

I'm scared to start it because of the heart stuff. What are other antidepressant drugs out there?

Be careful with this stuff. My mom was on it years ago, and it messed with her heart and she ended up in the hospital. The doctor said it was dangerous for her.

I took Thioridazine for a while, and I had some pretty severe neurological side effects. My doctor had to switch me to something else because I was having trouble controlling my movements. It was scary, but thankfully, the symptoms went away after I stopped taking it. I would be really careful with this medication and report any symptoms right away.

I had some weird rashes when I was on this. Just make sure you stay in touch with your doctor.

I used it for a week before I felt like I was going to pass out. My body was shaking, and I couldn't move right. I was so glad when the doctor took me off of it. I definitely wouldn't recommend it.

I took it for a few months and had a lot of movement issues, but the biggest problem was the chest pain I had over and over again. I thought I was having a heart attack. It was scary. I would talk to your doctor if you're feeling any pain in your chest, it’s a huge red flag. I stopped taking it and got better, luckily.
