I've recently been prescribed Welchol for elevated LDL cholesterol and type 2 diabetes. I'm curious to know how others have experienced significant improvements in their levels. The doctor mentioned that it binds to cholesterol and sugar in the gut to prevent absorption. I'm eager to learn more about real-life experiences, especially concerning side effects. What are the common side effects people encounter? And what are the most immediate improvements people saw? Your experience would be highly appreciated!

Side effects are a bummer! But if you can get past it, it's worth the benefits. Either way, consult your doctor so you can know the best way forward.

I've been on Welchol for about six months now. My LDL cholesterol levels have dropped significantly, and my blood sugar readings have been more stable. I did experience some constipation at first, but it went away after a few weeks.

I had to stop using Welchol because of severe constipation. But I noticed a drop in my LDL cholesterol levels while I was on it! It's not for everyone, so don't be discouraged if you experience issues.

I have been on Welchol for a while now and I believe its worth the heartburn that comes with it. I'm always all in for a lower LDL.

I take Welchol and have found it helps with my cholesterol. But I also had nose and throat irritation initially. It’s better to keep a check on your water intake. Stay hydrated if you have Welchol

I've seen some weight loss as a 'side effect' of taking Welchol. I'm not sure if this is because of reduced absorption of fat, but it’s worth noting.

I've been on Welchol for a year and it's helped keep my cholesterol in check. Just be prepared for the occasional flare-up of constipation. Increase your fiber intake to help with that.

I've taken Welchol and honestly, it's worth the side effects. My doctor explained it works by binding to 'bad' cholesterol and sugar and preventing them from being absorbed in the gut.

I've had some stomach pain when I first started taking Welchol. But I found that taking it with a full meal helped. It’s all about experimentation to find your perfect way.
