I've been prescribed Caplyta (lumateperone) 21mg capsules for my bipolar depression and I'm a bit nervous about starting a new medication. I've heard good things about how it affects serotonin and dopamine to improve mood, thoughts, and behavior, but I'm also worried about the potential side effects, especially the severe ones. Has anyone else tried this medication? I'd love to hear about your experiences, both good and bad. How did you find taking it once daily with food? Did you notice any improvements quickly, or did it take some time? And how did you handle any side effects that came up?

Be very careful with this medication. I ended up in the hospital with symptoms of neuroleptic malignant syndrome. It was terrifying and hard to recover from.

Has anyone here experienced any issues with movement or control? I’m a bit worried about those side effects, it sounds intense.

I had some dizziness when I first started, but it went away after a couple of weeks. Just be careful when you're starting out.

Caplyta has been a lifesaver for me. It took a bit to find the right dose, but now I feel like my life is back on track. You just need to be patient and stay in touch with your doctor.
