I've been dealing with nail fungus for what feels like forever, and my doctor recently prescribed the Ciclopirox 8% Kit. I've read that it needs to be used consistently for many months to see results, which is a bit discouraging. I'm wondering if anyone else has tried this treatment and if it worked for them. I'm especially interested in hearing about any side effects or tips on how to make the application process easier. Fingers crossed someone out there has some good advice!

Just started using it last week. The smell is awful, but I hope it works. My toenails are pretty nasty right now.

Does anyone know if you can paint your nails over the Ciclopirox solution? I'm not sure if it negates the effects or not.

I found that using a nail file to gently file down the thickened parts of the nail helped the solution penetrate better. Just be careful not to overdo it.

I had a terrible reaction to Ciclopirox. My skin around the nail beds got really red and swollen. I had to stop using it and switch to something else. It's frustrating because it seemed like it was finally working. Be cautious and watch for any signs of allergic reaction.

I've heard that some people soak their nails in apple cider vinegar before applying Ciclopirox. Has anyone tried this?

I wish I could say I had a magical solution, but I had to switch to oral medication because Ciclopirox didn't work at all for me. I got some serious burning sensation and had to stop.
