I've been dealing with some pretty intense muscle and joint pain lately, and I stumbled upon Coats Aloe Liniment 10% Liq 237ml. It's a topical pain reliever that contains methyl salicylate, which creates a warming sensation on the skin to help distract from the pain. It's also supposed to reduce inflammation. I'm curious to know if anyone else has tried this and what their experiences have been. The bottle lists a few possible side effects, but I'm hoping to hear about real-world experiences. Does it actually work? Any side effects to be aware of? I'd appreciate any insights, tips, or warnings from people who have used this product.

I'm a bit skeptical about this stuff. I tried it for my back pain and didn't notice any difference. Seems like a bit of a gimmick to me, but I guess that's just my experience. Has anyone actually had a bad reaction? I haven't seen anything that serious myself.

I've used this for a few months. I've tried a few other topical treatments but I always come back to this one. I haven't had any problems with it at all. It seems to work pretty well for me.

I tried it once and was surprised by the smell. I'm not sure if it was the methyl salicylate but it was quite strong. I didn't notice any immediate relief, so I didn't bother again.

I've used this a few times and it's been great for me, with no weird side effects at all.

I actually use this for my mother. She has arthritis and loves how it gives her relief every time she hurts. No problems so far, but if you're pregnant or nursing do check with a doctor first.

What's the deal with the smell? It's like a strong, medicinal scent that lingers a while. It's not the worst, but it's not great either. Has anyone figured out how to make it go away faster? Is that the methyl salicylate?

I actually got a rash from this stuff. I didn't know if it was because of the methyl salicylate or not but it went away quickly. Be careful if you have sensitive skin. Definitely read the side effects list to be safe.
