I've been taking levodopa and carbidopa for my Parkinson's disease for a while, and my doctor suggested adding Comtan (Entacapone) 200mg Tablets to help make levodopa more effective. It's supposed to reduce the periods when my medication wears off, but I'm a bit nervous about the side effects, especially the serious ones. Has anyone else tried this and what's your experience been like? . Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!

I've been on it for years. No major issues for me, but everybody is different. I know this is a serious disease, but ultimately, it's worth discussing the trade offs with your doctor.

Just started taking it and so far, so good. No major side effects yet, but I'm keeping a close eye on things. Personally, I'm okay with the tiredness, at least it's better than the off periods. Fingers crossed it lasts.

I've been on Comtan for about 6 months now, and it's made a world of difference for me. My levodopa lasts a lot longer, and I have fewer off periods. Just be aware of the side effects, but I haven't had any serious issues so far. Fingers crossed it stays that way.

The dry mouth was terrible at first, but I found that sucking on hard candy helped a lot. Also, drink lots of water.

Good luck with the new medication. I have a friend that has had very good results. Make sure to follow up with your doctor regularly and report any side effects, no matter how minor they may seem.

Serious question: does anyone know if there are any long-term effects of taking Comtan? I'm worried about what might happen years down the line.

I started taking it a month ago and the difference is night and day. I feel like I have my life back. I was really scared to start, but now I'm so glad I did. Good luck and hang in there!
