Has Anyone Tried Equetro (Carbamazepine) Extended Release 100mg Capsules for Epilepsy or Bipolar Disorder? Pros and Cons?
I've been prescribed Equetro 100mg extended-release capsules for my epilepsy and I'm a bit anxious. My doctor also mentioned it can help stabilize my mood since I've been diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Has anyone else had experience with Equetro? How effective was it for you? What side effects did you experience? I've read about some serious side effects, so I'm really hoping it's just the regular stuff. I also wanted to know, does anyone have any tips on how to take it? Like, is it better to take it with or without food? Any and all advice is appreciated! Thanks in advance.

I switched to Equetro from another medication, and it's been great. No more seizures, but I did have some issues with changes in my speech. Wanted to understand if someone else is facing the same issue.
I think doctors have a responsibility to warn patients about these side effects. It’s scary stuff.
The first few weeks were rough. I had some muscle cramps and excessive sweating. But now it’s much better. Just stick with it.
Be careful with this one. My dad had a really bad reaction to it—swollen glands and a rash. He had to stop taking it. Might want to monitor yourself closely if you start this.
Has anyone tried taking it in the morning vs. night? I heard it can make you tired so taking it before bed helps.
I've been on Equetro for a while now, and it's been a game-changer for my bipolar disorder. I've had some dizziness and tiredness, but nothing too bad. Just make sure to take it with food to avoid stomach upset. Good luck!
Carbamazepine can mess with your sodium levels, so keep an eye out for headaches or weakness. If you start feeling confused, go to the ER.
I’m on Equetro for bipolar and it’s worked wonders. I felt a slight change in my eyesight, but I’m not sure if it was the meds or just getting older.
I’ve heard horror stories about the side effects. If you start feeling too weird, don’t hesitate to call your doctor. Better safe than sorry!
I've been on it for my epilepsy, and it works well, but the dizziness can be annoying. I just make sure to stay hydrated. Otherwise, it's been okay.
