I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes a few months ago and my doctor prescribed Glyset 50mg Tablets (Miglitol) to help manage it. I'm curious to hear from others who have used this medication. How effective has it been for you? Have you experienced any of the side effects mentioned, like stomach pain, diarrhea, or gas? I'm particularly worried about the more serious side effects, such as allergic reactions or low blood sugar. Any advice or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. I'm hoping to hear from people who've had a variety of experiences with this medication, both positive and negative, and how you've managed any challenges or side effects. What are some of your tips for managing this medication?

I heard that Miglitol can interact with other medications. Make sure to talk to your doctor about all the meds you're taking. Especially if you're on insulin.

I've been on Glyset for about a year now. It's helped keep my blood sugar levels stable, but I did have some stomach issues at first. I heard from my doctor that taking it with meals can help

Be very careful with this medication. I ended up in the ER with severe stomach pain and found out I was having an allergic reaction.

I switched to Glyset from another medication and noticed a big difference in how my body handled carbs. No more crazy spikes after meals!

I haven't had any major issues, but I do get a lot of gas. It's embarrassing, but I've found that taking it with a light snack helps a bit. I still get gas.

I've had a great experience with Glyset. No major side effects, and my blood sugar levels are much more controlled. But since we have no idea how each person will react, I would steer clear if you are worried about side effects.
