I've been diagnosed with hereditary angioedema (HAE) and my doctor has prescribed Haegarda 2000unit Inj, 1 Vial. I'm curious to know if anyone else has experience with this medication. How effective is it in preventing swelling attacks? What are the most common side effects you've encountered? Did you have any issues with the injection site? Also, does anyone know if there are any alternatives that work well? I'm really looking for some insights from people who have been through this.

Haegarda has been a lifesaver for me. I've been using it for over a year now, and it has drastically reduced the frequency of my swelling attacks. The injections can be a bit uncomfortable, but the benefits far outweigh the inconvenience. I've only had mild side effects like irritation at the injection site and a bit of dizziness, but nothing too serious. My doctor warned me about the severe side effects, but luckily, I haven't experienced any of those.

I wish I had known about Haegarda sooner. The frequency of my attacks has gone down significantly, and I feel much more in control of my condition. It's worth the hassle of the injections.

I started Haegarda a few months ago and it has definitely helped with the swelling attacks. But the injection process is a bit tricky. My nurse had to show me how to do it properly. Have any of you found any tricks to make the injections less painful?

Agreed, Haegarda has been a game-changer. Just make sure to keep an eye out for any signs of allergic reactions. It's rare, but better safe than sorry.

I'm glad to hear it's working for many of you. I've heard of Cinryze as an alternative but not sure how it compares. Any thoughts?

I had a severe allergic reaction to Haegarda. It was terrifying – I had hives, trouble breathing, and my face swelled up. I had to go to the ER immediately. Make sure you have an EpiPen on hand just in case.
