I have a friend who is totally blind and has been struggling with sleep disorders for years. They recently started taking Hetlioz 20mg Capsules, which is designed to help reset the body's natural sleep-wake clock. I'm curious to hear from anyone who has experience with this medication. How effective has it been for you? What side effects, if any, have you encountered? I'd also like to know if there are any alternative treatments or lifestyle changes that have helped manage sleep issues related to blindness.

I tried Hetlioz and it just didnt work for me. I still felt groggy during the day and it was hard to stay awake. I think I might give it another shot, but that could be expensive.

I've had to deal with these problems myself. I take it every night at around 9:00, and I'm sleeping by 10 or 10:30. I've been using it for about 3 years now. I think the main concern is the other medications you take. If you can, it is ideal to only take one thing at night. It's impossible to reset your circadian rhythm if you are taking a bunch of other stuff. It has been amazing for me.

My mom has been using this for a while and she says it has helped a lot. She's not as tired during the day and sleeps better at night. I noticed a difference in her energy levels pretty quickly.

I've been on Hetlioz for about 6 months now, and it's been a game-changer. I finally feel like my sleep schedule is back on track. I did experience some headaches initially, but they went away after a few weeks. It's definitely worth discussing with your doctor if you're struggling with similar issues.

I used rozerem to try to get similar results to hetlioz, I guess they work the same. It's amazing that this kind of thing even exists. It's nice to know there's help for people with these kinds of issues.
