I was recently prescribed Isibloom 0.15mg-0.03mg Tablets as my new birth control method. The doctor explained that it contains a combination of estrogen (ethinyl estradiol) and progestin (desogestrel), which work together to prevent ovulation and make it harder for sperm to reach the egg or for a fertilized egg to implant. When taken correctly, it is supposed to be very effective. The possible side effects are long and scary, especially the urgent ones like allergic reactions, liver problems, and high blood pressure. I am a bit nervous about starting this new medication. Has anyone else tried Isibloom? What have your experiences been like, and did you encounter any side effects? Specifically, I would love to hear if anyone has dealt with more common side effects like headaches, nausea, or mood changes? Also, how does everyone find the cost and availability? Let's support each other and share our stories so we can make informed decisions.

Yep, I’ve been on it for a year. The first 3 months were rough, but I've adjusted. I get headaches, which is annoying, and I've gained a bit of weight, but no major issues. Not sure what the science is behind the weight gain but I just keep moving and eat healthy. Otherwise, it's been fine. Have you had any blood tests to monitor your hormones?

I hear you on the headaches. It was annoying the first 3 months, but then disappeared. I took tylenol, drank lots of water and didn't have any issues after that. Also, my insurance would only cover 3 months, but after a call to my insurance and the pharmacy, I got the rest of the year covered.

I've been on Isibloom for about 6 months now, and overall, it's been good. The first few months were a bit rough with some spotting and mood swings, but it's stabilized now. I didn't experience any of the urgent side effects, thank goodness. Definitely keep an eye out for those, though!

I wish they made a patch version of this. It would be so much easier than remembering to take a pill every day. Some people struggle with remembering the pills everyday!

I totally agree with the headaches. I got them too, but they stopped after a while. It's also worth mentioning, I suspect the side effects can be worse if you smoke and use birth control.

The cost is ridiculous. My insurance doesn't cover it fully, but it's worth it to avoid the risk of pregnancy. I don't have any health insurance issues with it..

I switched to Isibloom from a different pill, and thetransition was surprisingly smooth. I didn't have any severe side effects, just some mild nausea and breast tenderness. Definitely listened to my doctor about taking it at the same time every day to keep the hormones consistent. Both kinds of hormones are important, estrogen for regulating the menstrual cycle and progestin for thickening cervical mucus. Some people just don't handle the hormones well and there can be an imbalance, so it's a good idea to keep track of your cycles and note any changes. Those hormonal imbalances can be dangerous.

be careful if you have a history of blood clots. I had a friend who had some issues with clotting, and it was a nightmare.

I’ve heard mixed reviews about Isibloom. Some people love it, some people hate it. It’s definitely worth trying if your doctor recommends it, but be aware of the potential side effects.
