I've been prescribed Leqvio to help lower my LDL-C cholesterol levels, which have been consistently high despite diet and exercise changes. The description makes it sound like it could be a game-changer, but I'm a bit nervous about the side effects and the injection schedule. Has anyone else tried this medication? I'm curious to hear about your experiences, both positive and negative. Specifically, I'm interested in knowing how often you experienced side effects, and if so, how you managed them. Also, how did your doctor schedule your injections, and were you able to maintain the routine? I've heard that it's given twice in the first three months, and then every six months thereafter. Does this align with your experience?

Be careful with this stuff. I had a bad reaction to it.

I had some joint pain and swelling after the injections, but my doctor advised me to take some over-the-counter pain relievers, and it helped a lot. I think the benefits outweigh the minor side effects. It is a bit of a pain to go in for the injections, but it's worth it.

I took this for a month and was able to cancel my statin. I had a huge issue with statin drugs, especially with the muscle pain and cramps. I stopped using them because of the muscle issues. Eventually, I was tested and found I have high LDL. Because of this, I started taking this drug. I had to stop taking it when I was pregnant. It was a little bad when it stopped working and I had to worry about things like muscle pain and cramps again. It goes to show you how important it is to follow your doctor's orders.

I've heard some people say it's really expensive, but worth it if your insurance covers it. Check with your insurance company to be sure. My insurance company covered it with a small co-pay.

I've been on Leqvio twice now. My cholesterol level is down but the nurses I saw were horrible. They kept poking me way too many times. I was terrified and in pain because of it. I missed my next shot because of it. The second time I went in, a different nurse did it. This nurse did a lot better. Still. The shot hurts.

I went from a bad cholesterol reading to normal levels and I feel way better. The lipid levels are down and I experience less heartburn at times. But I did gain some weight when I started taking it. Get your doctor's advice before you start.
