I've been prescribed Naproxen Sodium ER 375mg Tabs (24h) for chronic pain management, and I'm a bit nervous about the potential side effects. The list of urgent side effects is quite long and scary. Has anyone else had experience with this medication? How did you manage any side effects? What should I be particularly vigilant about? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. I've read the possible side effects, but I'm curious to know about experiences with side effects (or lack of them) in real life. Plus, how do they compare to other NSAIDs? And can you take these with other medicines?

Be very careful with this stuff, it is not as easy as taking a pill with food to avoid upset stomachs. I've seen people end up in the ED with serious allergic reactions. I mean, the list of side effects is a bit terrifying, and it should not be. The FDA is going to pull this drug if you aren't careful. I'd say if you have any concerns, talk to your doctor about alternatives.

I've been on Naproxen Sodium ER for a few months now, and while it's helped with my pain, I've had a few issues. I've had a bit of dizziness and occasional heartburn, but nothing too severe. I was worried about the severe side effects but haven't experienced any of those. I would still recommend taking it with food and staying hydrated. But I've had a lot of friends and family tell me they'd rather stick to ibuprofen or something else. They thought it in particular was extremely risky.

I've had pretty good luck with naproxen. I had some stomach issues but they went away. I'm typically hesitant with these kinds of meds, but I haven't had any serious issues. I'd recommend it but definitely be careful with the side effects.

I had a bad reaction to naproxen. I'm not sure if this was the same form as the ER version, but after taking some naproxen, I had a bad allergic reaction and had to get an EpiPen injection. I guess they are all the same drug so I'd be careful. Also, my doctor says this is just an NSAID like ibuprofen and things like that, so if you're dealing with reactions from those ones as well, you'd probably be best to avoid this one as well.

My doctor recommended taking Naproxen Sodium ER with a proton pump inhibitor to help prevent stomach issues. It's worked well for me so far, and I've had no major side effects. I also try to avoid alcohol and other NSAIDs while taking it.

I've been on Naproxen Sodium ER for a while now, and I must say, it's been a game-changer for my chronic pain. I did experience some stomach upset initially, but it subsided after a few days. Just make sure to take it with food. I've heard some people have had bad reactions to this form but I've had no issues.

And how does this compare to other NSAIDs like ibuprofen? I've been taking ibuprofen for years, and I'm wondering if the switch to Naproxen Sodium ER will be worth it. Is it worth the risk?

I switched from regular naproxen to the ER version and it was like night and day. The extended-release formula really does help with consistent pain relief throughout the day. But I do agree with the above poster, be really careful. It's not that hard to avoid this stuff. My friend had bad side effects from this drug. Like, really bad.
