I've been struggling with eczema for years, and my doctor recently prescribed Pimecrolimus 1% cream. I've heard it's a good alternative to steroid creams, but I'd love to hear from others who have tried it. How effective is it? What were the side effects like? Did it take long to see results? Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

I have a friend who used Pimecrolimus and had a terrible allergic reaction. Totally stayed away from it after that. Guess it's a hit or miss.

I had a really bad reaction to Pimecrolimus. I got hives and my throat started to swell. Had to go to the ER. Definitely consult your doctor carefully before starting this.

I've been using it for a while now, and I've noticed that my eczema flares up less frequently. I also haven't had any serious side effects, just a bit of irritation when I first started using it. It's been a big help overall.

I switched to Pimecrolimus because steroid creams were making my skin too thin. I did notice some burning and stinging at first, but it went away after a few days. It's been worth it to avoid the steroid side effects.

I've heard that Pimecrolimus can be a bit more expensive than steroid creams. Has anyone found a good way to manage the cost?

I didn't know about the risk of infections — glad I looked this up. I'll make sure to keep an eye out for any signs.
