I've recently been prescribed Pimozide 2mg Tablets to help control my severe tics related to Tourette's syndrome. I've done some research and understand that it works by affecting certain chemicals in the brain, but I'm a bit apprehensive about the potential side effects and the need for regular heart tests (ECGs). Has anyone else had experience with this medication? I'd love to hear about your experiences, both good and bad, and any tips for managing side effects or dealing with the regular ECGs. I'm especially curious about how well it controlled tics and if it was worthwhile despite the side effects and regular tests. Thanks!

I've been on Pimozide for a couple of months now, and it's been a game-changer for my tics. The side effects were tough at first—dizziness and fatigue were the worst—but they've mostly subsided. The ECGs are a bit of a hassle, but knowing that my heart is being monitored gives me peace of mind. Definitely worth it for the control over my tics.

I had a friend who saw an improvement in tics with Pimozide, but there was a big increase in weight. It was hard to manage with diet and exercise alone. So, be prepared to adjust your lifestyle too.

So do you get used to the ECG? I'm dreading the tests.

Pimozide saved my life—literally. My tics were so severe I couldn't even walk sometimes. The side effects were tough, but manageable. Everyone's experience is different, so just be open with your doc and take it one day at a time.

Pimozide helped a lot with my tics, but I had a rough time with drowsiness. It was tough to function at work, so I had to adjust the timing of when I took it. Also, be prepared for the dry mouth—it's brutal!

I was on Pimozide for a while, and it did help with the tics, but the side effects were too much for me. I had some really concerning muscle twitching and stiffness. It was a trade-off I couldn't live with, unfortunately.
