I've been struggling with acne for years and my dermatologist recently prescribed Retin-A Micro 0.04% Gel. I'm excited to see if it helps, but I'm also a bit nervous about the potential side effects. Has anyone here tried this gel? I'd love to hear about your experiences, how long it took to see results, and any tips you might have for dealing with the initial purging phase or managing side effects. Also, how does it compare to other topical treatments you've tried in the past? I'm eager to hear all your insights!

I'm a fan of it, but the smell is like cat pee. Wtf?!

I switched from Differin to Retin-A and it was night and day. The Retin-A worked much faster and more effectively. I did experience some purging, but it was worth it in the end. My skin looks amazing now.

I've been using Retin-A for a few weeks now and I love it! My skin is smoother and clearer already, but I've noticed my skin looks and feels sunburned at times. Have any of you found a good way to combat this?

I had a terrible reaction to this gel. My skin was peeling and it was just awful. I had to stop using it after a week. Just be cautious and listen to your skin, it's not the right fit for everyone.

Be patient. It took me almost 2 months to see any real improvement, and the first few weeks were tough. My skin was super dry, and I had to switch to a lighter moisturizer. But by 3 months, my skin was clearer than ever.

I used Retin-A Micro for about 6 months and it was a game-changer for my acne. The first few weeks were rough with some redness and dryness, but it got better. I saw significant improvement after 3 months. Just make sure to use a good moisturizer and sunscreen daily.

I'd recommend using a gentle cleanser and a thick moisturizer to help with the dryness. Also, apply the gel every other night at first to give your skin time to adjust. After 2 weeks, you can increase to nightly if you're not experiencing severe side effects.
