I've been struggling with occasional constipation and my doctor recommended Senna 8.8mg/5ml Syrup. I've read that it's a plant-based laxative that helps move things along by stimulating the intestines and increasing water in the stool. Has anyone else tried this? I'm curious about your experiences, both good and bad. How long did it take to work? Did you experience any side effects like stomach pain or cramps? I want to make sure I'm prepared for what to expect. Also any tips on how to take this correctly. Thanks in advance!

Be careful with Senna. I had a bad reaction to it last time I tried. I got rashes and itching, which was scary. Had to get to an urgent care.

I tried Senna and it worked but it was pretty intense. I think I'll stick to stool softeners from now on.

I tried Senna and it was way too harsh for me. Gave me bad stomach cramps and I was literally on the toilet all night. I'd recommend trying a gentler option first.

I've heard that senna can cause dehydration if you're not careful. Make sure to drink lots of water and avoid having to go to the doctor.

Sennna should only be used for occasional constipation. Don't use it every day and you should be fine. I quit a few months back and I'm good. I can go without it. It's not habit forming if you don't overdo it.

I've been using Senna for a while now and it's been a lifesaver for my occasional constipation. I find that taking it at night works best for me. By the morning, I'm good to go. Just make sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day. Also talk to your doc if you experience any swelling or trouble breathing.

I've been dealing with constipation lately and I'm not sure if I should try Senna. I've heard it can be habit-forming. Is that true?

I had a friend who swore by a different laxative. She said Senna made her sick.

I've used Senna before and it works like a charm. Just be careful with the dosage. Start small. I had some cramps the first time but nothing too bad. Wait a few days to let your body get used to it.
