I've been struggling with acne and rosacea for years, and my dermatologist recently prescribed Sod Sul/Sulfur 9-4.5% Wash. I've seen some mixed reviews online, so I wanted to ask if anyone has tried it? How effective was it? What were the side effects like? Any tips for using it? Thanks in advance!

For those who don't know, this is a topical medication that combines sulfur and sulfacetamide. It's supposed to help dry out skin, peel away dead skin cells, and stop bacterial growth. The side effects range from mild (like dry skin) to severe (like liver problems or severe skin reactions).

I was really hesitant to try this because of the sulfacetamide. I have a sulfa allergy, so I had to get a patch test done by my doctor.

I've been using for about a month and a half and I'm starting to see improvement. I have oily skin and this did dry it out a bit more, so I started using a night cream afterward, it seems to help a lot.

If you have dry skin, this might not be the best option. It can make your skin feel tight and irritated. I would recommend this only if you have really oily skin.

I didn’t even know this existed. I've been struggling with acne. My doctor prescribed me something else. I'd be willing to try this.

Be careful with this stuff. I had a bad reaction to it. My skin got really irritated and it felt like it was burning. I had to stop using it.

I can't believe it's been 6 months and I'm still thankful that my dermatologist recommended this. I've been using it twice a day as prescribed, and my rosacea is under control. I've even started using it on my back for acne outbreaks, as it's been a godsend.

I used this for a while and it worked well, but make sure to use sunscreen. My skin got really sensitive to the sun while I was using it.

I have sensitive skin and I thought I'd give this a shot. It dried out my skin and made it really itchy. I could not tolerate it. I would not recommend this to anyone with sensitive skin.
