Has anyone tried Sodium Sulfacetamide/sulfur Foam for acne? What are your experiences?
I've been struggling with persistent acne for years and my dermatologist recommended Sodium Sulfacetamide/sulfur Foam. It's a topical foam that contains sulfacetamide to fight bacteria and sulfur to dry out and exfoliate the skin. I've read about some scary side effects, like severe skin reactions and even lupus, but I'm hoping it will be worth it. Has anyone else used this and what were the results? I'm really hoping this will clear up my skin, but I'm nervous about the side effects. Has anyone had any issues with this medication? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I think it's a bit smelly, but it does the job. I've been using it for a while and it's definitely helped with my acne. It's a bit messy to use, but I just put a towel on my pillow to catch any drips.
Be careful with this stuff. My friend had a severe allergic reaction and ended up in the hospital. Scary stuff.
I've been using it for a month now and I've seen a significant improvement in my rosacea. No side effects so far, but I hope it stays that way. My skin is dryer but I think it's worth it.
How often are you supposed to use it? My doctor said twice a day, but that seems like a lot.
I got really bad skin irritation from this stuff. My doctor said I might have a sensitivity to sulfur.
This was a godsend for my seborrheic dermatitis. My skin was a mess and it calmed everything down. No severe side effects either. Have you tried anything else for acne, like benzoyl peroxide? I've heard some people using that combo with success, but you should obviously consult your dermatologist before changing your regimen.
I tried it and it was alright, but it didn't do much for my acne. I got some dry skin and itching, but nothing too bad.
I used this for my rosacea and it worked like a charm!
