Has anyone tried Theramycin Z 2% Topical Solution for acne? Share your experiences!
I've been struggling with acne for a while now, and my dermatologist prescribed Theramycin Z 2% Topical Solution. It's an erythromycin topical solution that's supposed to reduce bacteria and inflammation. I'm a bit nervous about the potential side effects, especially the severe ones like allergic reactions and colitis. Has anyone else used this? How was your experience? Did you encounter any side effects, and if so, how did you deal with them?

I've heard mixed things about Theramycin Z. Some people swear by it, others not so much. Do you know if it's any better/worse than other topical antibiotics?
Theramycin Z really helped clear up my acne, but I had to use a good moisturizer to combat the dryness. Also, it took about 6 weeks to see significant results.
Be careful with this stuff. A friend of mine had a really bad reaction with severe itching and redness. Definitely worth discussing with a doc first.
Try using it before bed, if you have sensitive skin. It can sting a bit, especially if you have any open pimples.
I used it for a couple of months and it didn't work for me at all. My acne didn't improve and I had some mild irritation. I switched to a different topical solution and it worked much better.
I used it and saw improvement within a few weeks. I also used a gentle cleanser and non-comedogenic moisturizer. My skin is much clearer now.
I've had colitis before, so I was really worried about that side effect. But I used Theramycin Z for 2 months and didn't have any issues. Just a bit of dryness and peeling, which was manageable.
