I was recently prescribed Tobramycin/Dexamethasone eye drops (10ml) to treat an eye infection. The drops contain both an antibiotic (tobramycin) and a steroid (dexamethasone) to fight infection and reduce inflammation. Has anyone else used these? I'm curious to hear about your experiences, especially regarding side effects. The urgent side effects list is a bit scary, but my doctor assured me it's rare. What should I expect?

Side effects can be scary, but it's good you're aware of them. I had some eye irritation, but it went away after a few days. Always keep an eye out for any severe reactions though.

Be careful with steroids in eye drops! They can increase pressure in the eye if used for too long. Make sure to follow your doctor's instructions closely. I had a friend who had issues with long term use.

I use these every time I have an eye infection and it's always helped. Just make sure to wash your hands before putting them in.

I had a really bad reaction to these drops. I ended up with a rash all over my face and had to stop using them immediately. Definitely talk to your doctor if you experience anything unusual..

These drops saved me from a pretty nasty infection. Just keep track of how long you use them, as steroids in eye drops are strong stuff.

The idea of eye pain is frightening. I've avoided steroids in the past because of this. If you get any kind of pain in your eyes, stop using and call your doctor immediately.

I've had a similar prescription and the key is to keep using the drops even if it feels like it's getting better. Stopping early can cause a relapse.

Stick to the prescribed dosage and don't use them longer than you need to. If you have any concerns, don't hesitate to call your doctor.

I got these prescribed and the first thing I noticed was some blurriness. It went away after a while, but if it persists, definitely call the doctor.
