I've been suffering from a nasty cough and congested nose for days. My doctor prescribed Vanacof DMX Liquid to help with the chest congestion, cough, and stuffy nose. It's a combination of Guaifenesin, Dextromethorphan, and Phenylephrine. I'm curious to know if anyone else has tried this and how it worked for them. Also, I'd like to hear about any side effects you may have experienced. I've read the list of possible side effects, and they're a bit concerning, especially the urgent ones. Let's discuss! 😷

I've never used it but I heard that Dextromethorphan can be habit-forming and should be used cautiously. Use it exactly as prescribed, if you do go for it at all.

This thread is making me nervous, LOL! I think I need to talk to my doctor before I take anything.

Do you think it's okay to take this with other medications? This seems complicated. I think my doctor suggested a brand without the third ingredient.

I used it a few weeks ago and it worked wonders. My congestion cleared up in no time and I could finally breathe through my nose again. Just make sure to drink plenty of water when you take it, it helped me.

I definitely noticed dizziness, like someone else mentioned. It was weird but I kept taking it because the doctor said it would help. It went away after a few days so who knows.

I'm surprised more people aren't talking about this. I used to take Guaifenesin syrup separately and it was a lot better for dry coughs. Maybe Vanacof DMX Liquid would have been better for me if I had been suffering from nasal issues as well.

Vanacof DMX Liquid worked great for me but it did make me feel really jittery and I had trouble sleeping. It could be the Dextromethorphan or maybe the Phenylephrine. There was some small print on the side effects of the prescription bottle that mentioned this but I missed it initially.

Let me know how it works out for you! This is very interesting. Doing some Googling now.

I tried it and didn’t notice much of a difference. Maybe it is effective but I did not feel much relief anywhere near the effect of using a nasal spray that doctors recommended me in the past. It did calm my cough at least a bit though.

I had a bad reaction to it, actually and I preferred the alternative medication recommended by the pharmacist. Symptoms of an allergic reaction, itching and red skin, were not worth it in my case. Be careful if you decide to take it.
