I've been struggling with eczema for years, and my dermatologist recently prescribed Alclometasone 0.05% Ointment. I've read about the potential side effects, and while the urgent ones are scary, I was wondering if anyone has had any issues with more common ones like skin irritation or acne. How effective was it for you? Any tips on managing side effects or application techniques would be super helpful. Thanks in advance!

I’ve been using this for a month now, and it’s definitely helped with the itching and redness. No side effects so far, but I’m nervous about long-term use. Anyone have tips on tapering off?

Be careful with steroids. Nothing like prolonged use and a long road ahead to fix the damage. I'd recommend checking out natural remedies and taking them along with the steroid so you don't have to use it for long.

I've used it for a while now, and it's been a game-changer for my dermatitis. No major side effects so far, just a bit of skin irritation initially, but that went away. Definitely worth a try!

I've heard it can cause some serious issues if you're not careful. I’m scared to even start it. Has anyone had a bad experience with it?

It worked great for me, but I had to be really careful with the application. My dermatologist told me to only use a thin layer and not to cover it with a bandage unless instructed. Might be why I didn't have any major issues.

I had a bad reaction to it—the allergic reaction is no joke. My skin was peeling and I had a rash all over. Switched to a different topical and it's been much better.

I've had really good luck with it! It calmed down my eczema flare-ups quickly. Just make sure to follow the instructions closely and don't overuse it. I'd say its side effects are mild and manageable.

I used it for a bit and then switched to a different cream. It did help, but I felt like it made my skin too dry. It could be my skin type, though.

What's the difference between this and hydrocortisone? My doc suggested it, but I was wondering if anyone here has compared the two. Also, how long should you use it for?
