I've been struggling with extremely dry, rough skin on my elbows and knees for a while now. My dermatologist recommended Ammonium Lac 12% Lotion 400gm, an over-the-counter moisturizer and skin softener. It's supposed to help my skin hold onto water and gently exfoliate dead skin cells. I've seen some mixed reviews online and I'm a bit nervous about potential side effects, especially the irritation and burning sensations some people mentioned. I applied it once at night and it was okay. I have a few questions: 1. How often should I be applying it? 2. Any tips on how to minimize irritation? 3. Has anyone else experienced any serious side effects? 4. Will my dry skin recover? I've read that it can take a few weeks to see significant improvements, so I'm hoping to get some insights from others who have used this product. Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences!

Be careful with this stuff, I got a bad rash on my face and had to stop using it. Turns out it's not just for dry skin, it can also be drying so maybe it's not great for everyone

I had a bad reaction to this lotion and ended up with a rash all over my legs. I had no idea it could cause such a reaction; my skin is usually not sensitive. And I see that it can cause allergic reactions so everyone should keep that in mind.

I've been using Ammonium Lac 12% for about a month now, and I've seen a noticeable difference in my skin's texture. It's super important to start with a small area first to see how your skin reacts. I apply it twice a day, morning and night, and it's been a game-changer. Just be patient, it takes time to see results. For irritation, make sure your skin is completely dry before applying and avoid areas with cuts or scrapes.

I've had mixed results with it. It works great on my elbows but burns like crazy on my feet. It's weird how different parts of the body can react so differently.

I've been using Ammonium Lac for years and it's the only thing that works for my severely dry skin. Just make sure to moisturize well after applying and avoid using it on your face unless recommended by your doctor.

I used this for a week and it did nothing to help me. I suspect my skin is too sensitive for it or there is better out there.
