I've been prescribed Calcipotriene 0.005% Ointment for my psoriasis and am curious about others' experiences. How effective has it been for you? I've heard a lot about its benefits but am also a bit concerned about the potential side effects, especially the risk of high calcium levels. I noticed that it’s not recommended to have long-term treatments near sensitive areas like the face or groin. Has anyone had issues with this? Which method of apply did you use. I applied it while my skin was damp and did not scrub my skin before applying it.

I've been using Calcipotriene for a few months now, and it's been a game-changer. I had pretty severe psoriasis on my elbows and knees, and this ointment has significantly reduced the severity of the patches. I did experience some mild irritation initially, but it subsided after a few weeks.

It's helped me a lot, but I had to be really careful about not getting it on my face. My dermatologist warned me about the potential for high calcium levels and skin irritation. I tried to use it but it dried my skin out as well. But that could have been a side effect of the ointment

Okay, so not all hope is lost. I was really nervous about trying this, especially with the side effects listed, but you guys are making me feel more comfortable. Thanks!

I prefer applying it at night before bed. That way, it has all night to work without being washed off or disturbed.

I feel your pain. I've been there. It's tough when medications don't work out. But it's good to know the other options out there. Hope you find something that works.

Curious about the application. Does anyone know what time of day is best to apply it — morning or night?

Be careful with the application. I made the mistake of applying it too heavily and ended up with some skin irritation. I've found that a thin layer applied evenly works best.

Honestly, I tried it for a week and it made my skin feel worse. Just had a lot of really bad flaking and irritation. Sadly they told me to just stop using it because I did not react well.

I had a really bad reaction to this stuff. Within a week, I started feeling really weak and had a terrible headache. Turns out, my calcium levels were off the charts. Definitely had to stop using it and switched to a different treatment.

I've been on this for about six months and have had no issues. My psoriasis has cleared up significantly, and I haven't experienced any side effects. Fingers crossed it stays this way!
