I've been dealing with eczema for years, and my dermatologist recently prescribed Clocortolone Pivalate 0.1% Cream. I had a terrible reaction to it. I woke up with hives and swelling on my face, and I had to rush to the ER. Turns out I’m allergic to it. I’d suggest trying a small patch test first.
I found that combining it with a gentle moisturizer right after applying the cream helped a lot with dryness, without counteracting the effects of the steroid. Just pat it on, don't rub.
I've been using it for about a month and so far it has worked great, but you really need to be careful with the application. Too much can cause some weird side effects. Just use a pea-sized amount, no more.
Be careful with this stuff. I didn't think much about the side effects until I woke up with a severe headache and rapid heart rate. Ended up in the ER, doc said it was related to the cream.
