I've been prescribed Efudex 2% Solution for actinic keratosis and I'm a bit nervous about the side effects. Has anyone used this and can share their experience? How long did the skin reactions last? Were the side effects as bad as they sound? Any tips for making the treatment more bearable? Thanks in advance!

I used Efudex a few years ago for the same thing. The first few weeks were rough with a lot of redness and irritation, but it got better. Just follow your doctor's instructions and don't scratch or pick at the treated area. Good luck!

I used Efudex for superficial basal cell carcinoma, and it was a game-changer. I had a bit of redness and swelling, but nothing I couldn't handle. Glad I gave it a shot.

If it helps, I used it for a different skin cancer, and it cleared it up completely though I had some skin irritations. Hope it works well for you though!

I had a pretty bad reaction to it, but my derm said it was worth it because it cleared up the precancerous spots. Just be prepared for some discomfort. But it works.

The first week was brutal, but it gets better after that. I wished I had stuck it out. Take lots of pictures to document your progress and share with your doc. You'll see improvements if you stick with it.

I had a similar experience with another cream and gave up because of the pain, but I think it's worth giving Efudex a shot. If it doesn't work out, there are other options. Right?

My friend used Efudex and it worked wonders, but she had a crazy amount of scarring. Not sure if it was from the application or just how her skin healed. Be careful and keep the area clean.

Oh no. My mom used it once and looked like a monster for a few weeks. Has anyone asked about the skin color changes?
