Has anyone used Erythromycin Ophthalmic Ointment for pink eye? What was your experience like?
I was prescribed Erythromycin Ophthalmic Ointment for a case of pink eye (conjunctivitis) and I'm curious about others' experiences. How effective was it for you? Did you experience any side effects like eye irritation or redness? I've heard it can be quite helpful, but I'm also a bit worried about the urgent side effects, which I assume are pretty rare. Be careful, I had a friend who had a bad reaction. Eye irritation was awful.
I had no issues with it but my boyfriend had a bad reaction to the ointment, stay alert!
I had to use it for my kid. It was a little tricky to apply but it did the job.
I got this for pink eye and it cleared up in a few days. No side effects for me.
It's weird but helpful to use the ointment with a clean finger. It can get messy though.
I wish I had known about the urgent side effects earlier, but it turned out fine. Just scary at first.
I'm glad I read this thread. I was prescribed this for an infection but the side effects info made me nervous.
I had anxiety about the side effects but nothing too bad happened. Just a bit of redness.
I used it for my newborn to prevent eye infections. Worked like a charm!
As a nurse, I can say Erythromycin Ointment is pretty standard for bacterial eye infections.
