Has anyone used Erythromycin Ophthalmic Ointment for pink eye? What was your experience like?
I was prescribed Erythromycin Ophthalmic Ointment for a case of pink eye (conjunctivitis) and I'm curious about others' experiences. How effective was it for you? Be careful, I had a friend who had a bad reaction. Eye irritation was awful.
I had no issues with it but my boyfriend had a bad reaction to the ointment, stay alert!
I had to use it for my kid. It was a little tricky to apply but it did the job.
I got this for pink eye and it cleared up in a few days. No side effects for me.
It's weird but helpful to use the ointment with a clean finger. It can get messy though.
I wish I had known about the urgent side effects earlier, but it turned out fine. Just scary at first.
I'm glad I read this thread. I was prescribed this for an infection but the side effects info made me nervous.
I had anxiety about the side effects but nothing too bad happened. Just a bit of redness.
I used it for my newborn to prevent eye infections. Worked like a charm!
As a nurse, I can say Erythromycin Ointment is pretty standard for bacterial eye infections.
