I've been prescribed Fluocinolone Acet 0.01% to manage my eczema flare-ups. I've heard it can be really effective, but I'm a bit nervous about the side effects. Has anyone here used it for eczema or psoriasis? What was your experience? Any tips on how to apply it for the best results? I've read the side effects, but I'm particularly worried about the risk of Cushing's syndrome or adrenal gland issues with prolonged use, and how likely are those?

Wow, that's intense. I didn't know it could cause Cushing's syndrome. I've been using it for a week and I think I'm going to talk to my doctor about it.

How often do you use it? I've been using it on and off for years for my eczema and it works really well for me. For me, the key is to use it sparingly, especially on sensitive areas like the face. I've had no serious side effects. Once I used it too much, I got some stretch marks, but that was my fault — you have to be careful. I once overdid it after a vacation and some of my hair started to grow thicker. It was weird.

I used it for a few weeks and had a strange reaction: I got these weird stretch marks on my arms. I stopped using it and they went away. It was a bit scary, but my doctor said it was just a side effect. Don't be afraid to ask your doctor about it if you are concerned.

I've been using it for a few months now and it's been a game-changer for my psoriasis. I apply a thin layer to the affected areas once a day and it helps keep the redness and itching under control.

Be very careful with this stuff. I had a friend who ended up with Cushing's syndrome from overusing a similar steroid cream. It was terrifying—I had to help her navigate all the side effects. Her adrenal glands were shot and she gained a lot of weight in her upper back and belly. It took her a long time to recover.

Just a reminder to everyone: if you experience any severe side effects, don't wait, go to the hospital. Better safe than sorry. I had a friend who ignored the symptoms and ended up in the ER. It was a close call.

I've found that applying a very thin layer and washing hands thoroughly afterwards helps minimize side effects. Also, if you're using it on your face or other thin skin areas, make sure to patch test first. I always use it as a last resort.

I've never heard of eczema or psoriasis causing hair growth, but that's wild. I hope you're doing better now.
