I've been dealing with melasma for years, and my dermatologist recently prescribed Hydroquinone 4% Cream. I've started using it, and I'm curious to know if anyone else has had success with this treatment. I'm especially interested in hearing about any side effects you might have experienced and how you dealt with them. Did you notice any significant changes in your skin after using it for a few weeks? I'm looking forward to hearing your experiences and any tips you might have! I've been using it for a week now, and I'm not sure if I'm seeing any improvements yet. I've had a bit of stinging and redness, but nothing too severe. I'm hopeful that these side effects will subside as my skin gets used to the cream.

Anyone else experience more side effects when using a toner or exfoliator with hydroquinone? I had to stop using my toner.

I've been using it for about a month and finally noticing some fading on my dark spots. I've had some mild stinging, but I'm just too happy with the changes to stop.

I used Hydroquinone 4% for about 3 months and saw a noticeable improvement in my melasma. It took about 2 weeks to see any real progress, but after that, it was worth it. I experienced dryness and some redness, but nothing too bad.

Be careful, this stuff can make your skin incredibly sensitive to the sun. I learned that the hard way.

My dermatologist recommended using a moisturizer to help with the dryness. It's made a big difference!

I'm on my second tube now and I've seen great results. I've also had good experiences with products that combine hydroquinone with ingredients like niacinamide and azelaic acid. Just patch test first and listen to your skin.

Does anyone have experience using different concentrations of hydroquinone? I'm considering trying a lower percentage next.

I've heard from my doctor that it is important to use hydroquinone as directed and not to use more than recommended, as this can lead to unwanted effects like blue-black pigmentation.
