Has anyone used Luxiq 0.12% Aerosol Foam for psoriasis? What was your experience?
I've recently been prescribed Luxiq 0.12% Aerosol Foam for my psoriasis. It's a strong corticosteroid called betamethasone, and it's supposed to help with the redness, itching, and swelling. Has anyone else used this? I'm a bit worried about the side effects, like thinning of the skin or changes in eyesight, and wondering if the benefits outweigh the risks. I'd love to hear from anyone who has experience with this treatment, their results and how they handled the side effects. I'm curious about two side effects in particular: what do the skin changes look like, and how did you manage them if you experienced them? I've heard that burning and stinging can happen. Is this something that goes away over time, and if not, are there any remedies to help?

I've used quite a lot of topical steroids and this one was the only one that worked for me. Make sure you don't use it in combination with other steroids. I haven't had any major problems with it. The doctor told me this one is safer than other topical steroids. I always wash my hands after using it as well.
I had a terrible reaction to this stuff. My skin turned bright red all over my body and started peeling. It was awful. The doctor told me I was allergic but that it's very rare.
Anytime you're using a steroid, even a topical one, there's always the risk of adrenal gland issues. There are some topical steroids that are worse than others, and it's hard to tell until you start to use them. I've heard Luxiq is pretty mild, though. No one I've talked to has had issues.
Luxiq saved my life when I had severe seborrheic dermatitis. I could not stop scratching my all over my body, and it finally worked after several others I had tried. Just be careful with the application instructions, especially if you are sensitive to steroids. Don't go crazy rubbing it into your skin super quickly, or you'll have issues.
Avoid using it near your eyes as well. It can cause catheter disorder which is basically what it sounds like: changes in eye pressure. Not fun.
I was really nervous about the side effects, but honestly, I didn't experience anything major. The only thing I noticed was a bit of dryness, but that's nothing a good moisturizer can't fix. It took a few weeks for me to see significant improvement, but it was worth it! Definitely talk to a doctor if anything more serious happens, but you'll probably be okay.
I've been using Luxiq for a few months now, and it's definitely helped with the itching and redness. The stinging was intense at first, but it faded after the first week. Just make sure to follow the instructions carefully.
