I was prescribed Nystatin 500,000 Units Oral Tablets for a persistent case of thrush. The doctor said it's a common antifungal and that it's safe to use because it doesn't get absorbed into the bloodstream, but I'm a little nervous about the side effects. Has anyone else used this? I'd love to know if it's worth the potential side effects or if there are other remedies I should consider.

I've heard that it can cause some serious allergic reactions and other severe problems, like Stevens-Johnson syndrome, but those seem rare. I just want to make sure I'm prepared and informed. Any personal experiences or medical advice would be super helpful!

I've used Nystatin before for oral thrush. It worked well, but I did experience some stomach irritation. Nothing too bad, though. Just make sure to take it with food if you can.

I had a bad reaction to Nystatin. I developed hives and had to stop taking it. It was scary, but luckily I caught it early. Talk to your doctor about alternatives if you start feeling weird.

I've heard of Stevens-Johnson syndrome and it's scary. Please be cautious and contact your healthcare provider if you notice any signs of a severe reaction. Also, it's bothering me that this very important warning is right in the middle of other, less severe side effects. The FDA should really make this clearer!.

This medicine really helped with my oral thrush, I took Nystatin like this before. The side effects were minimal, just a bit of an upset stomach. Definitely worth it for the relief it provided. Keep a bottle of Tums handy just in case.

Seriously, if you get any signs of an allergic reaction, go to the ER. Don't mess around with this stuff. Better safe than sorry, right?

I'm glad they mentioned that it doesn't get absorbed into your bloodstream. That's really reassuring, especially when dealing with something so close to your digestive system.

I used Nystatin for a yeast infection and it was a game-changer. No side effects for me, but always good to be aware.

I had a similar experience. I got a rash and some mouth irritation, but it went away after a few days. My doctor said it was a common reaction. Make sure to report any side effects to your doctor right away.

I had a friend who had a bad reaction to Nystatin. He literally couldn't breathe and had to go to the hospital. Just be really careful and aware of the symptoms.
