I've been prescribed Nystatin/Triamcinolone Ointment for a fungal skin infection with inflammation. The doctor explained that Nystatin treats the fungal infection while Triamcinolone reduces redness, swelling, and itching. I've started using it, but I'm a bit concerned about the potential side effects, especially the severe ones. Has anyone else used this ointment? I'd love to hear about your experiences, good or bad. I'm particularly interested in whether it effectively treats the infection and inflammation, and if you noticed any side effects. Also, any tips on how to apply it or how long it took to see improvements would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I had a bad reaction to the steroid in this, made my skin super thin and I started bruising easily. Wish I never had to try this, but it actually helped the fungal infection

One thing that helped me was applying a thin layer and not rubbing it. I just spread it on and let it sit there. Then I would rinse off the excess and let it dry. I'm a visual person, so this helped me to not overdo it and make sure it's not too thick or rubbing in too much

I applied it and it was so effective on the fungus. But a couple weeks later I noticed I was getting stretch marks on my sides. I'm sure it was from the triamcinolone because it took a lot of time to heal. Just be careful and listen to your body.

I've used this and a different version of this ointment in the past and honestly, it was a lifesaver. Just make sure to talk to your doctor about dosages and how often you're putting it on. For me, it was twice a day on the affected area. If you experience breathing issues or severe itching, stop using it and call your doctor ASAP.

I'm on week 3 and haven't noticed any improvement. Should I be concerned?

I've had some bad experiences. Anyone else notice any severe reactions? I've had severe allergic reactions to it before and now I'm afraid I'll get one again.

I thought I had an allergic reaction to it but it turns out it was a fungal infection and I wasn't applying it enough. So don't jump to conclusions too fast.

Be cautious with this stuff. I had some nasty reactions to the steroid in it, made me break out like crazy. Stick to the cream for a little while and you might be okay, just keep an eye out for the side effects.

I used this ointment last year for a stubborn fungal rash on my arm. It worked really well, but I did notice some skin thinning after a few weeks. I applied it exactly as prescribed, and it cleared up the infection quickly. The redness and itching went away in about a week. Just make sure to follow your doctor's instructions carefully.
