I was prescribed Polytrim Ophthalmic Solution for a nasty case of conjunctivitis (pink eye). The doctor said it's effective because it contains two antibiotics, trimethoprim and polymyxin B. Has anyone else used this? How was your experience? I'm especially curious about any side effects. The urgent ones listed are scary, and I'm hoping to avoid them. The other possible side effects, like eye irritation and burning, seem mild, but I'd appreciate hearing from others who have used it.

I've used it a few times and it's always cleared up the infection quickly. Just make sure to store it properly in the fridge. Some people don't know that, but it's important to keep it cool.

I used it last year and it worked wonders! No serious side effects, just a bit of stinging at first.

Seems like most people had a good experience with it. Just keep an eye out for any serious side effects and you should be fine.

I had a bit of redness and swelling, but nothing too bad. Just keep an eye on it and if it gets worse, call your doctor–no reason to panic unless you get the really bad side effects.
