I've been struggling with nerve pain for months, and my doctor recommended trying the Qutenza 8% 4 Patch Kit. It's a high-dose capsaicin patch that desensitizes the pain-sensing nerve endings. I'm a bit nervous about the side effects, especially the urgent ones like allergic reactions and high blood pressure. I've read that the burning sensation can be intense but temporary. Has anyone here used this patch? What was your experience like? How did you manage the side effects? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

I wish I could give you a better idea. I used it and I didn't have any pain. I just made sure to keep an eye on the application site and contacted my doctor as soon as I had a side effect.

I'm considering this, but I'm worried about the potential side effects because I have a history of allergic reactions. Has anyone else had problems with the patch?

I had a bad reaction to it. My skin blistered and I felt like I couldn't breathe. I had to go to the hospital. Not worth it for me. Probably more effective but would need another patch, though.

It's worth a try. I had some burning, but nothing I couldn't handle. My doctor warned me about the symptoms to watch for, and I kept an eye out for them. Ended up using the patches every three months on and off for 2 years. I have had my doctor to suggest more than one treatment for nerve pain. Always ask for alternatives!

Any suggestions for managing the burning sensation? I'm really worried about that part. Would Love to use the patch for nerve pain relief. I have fibromyalgia and the current medication is not working for me. Could this work for me and relieve the pain?

I've used Qutenza for my nerve pain. The burning sensation was intense, but it did get better after a few days. I applied an ice pack to the skin, it helped a lot. The pain relief lasted for about two and a half months for me, which was a significant improvement from other treatments. I did have some irritation, but it was manageable.

No side effects here, but I did notice it's a bit pricey. Make sure your insurance covers it!

I've been using it with my pain medication, and the doctor also told me that it should not be used on open skin. Any cracks in the skin will lead to a lot of pain. I also can't use the cream on my face. I have a lot of nerve pain in my face and this is a real pain in the butt.

Be careful with the cool packs! I used one straight from the freezer and ended up with frostbite. Not fun.

I've been using it for a while now, and it's been a game-changer. The burning sensation is rough, but the relief is worth it. Plus, I noticed a reduction in inflammation as well!
