I recently found out that my child has a pinworm infection, and the pediatrician prescribed Reeses Pin-Worm Med Susp 30ml, which contains Pyrantel pamoate. I've read that it works by paralyzing the worms in the intestines, allowing them to be passed out in the stool. It's supposed to be taken as a single dose, but I'm a bit nervous about the potential side effects. Has anyone used this medication before? I'd love to hear about your experiences, both good and bad, and any tips you might have for administering it to a reluctant child. Also, what are the warning signs to look out for? Are the urgent side effects really that rare?

I appreciate any advice or information you can provide. Thank you!

This stuff tastes horrible. My kid spit it out the first time. Maybe try mixing it with something to mask the taste. Good luck!

I'm a pediatrician, and I've prescribed this many times. Just follow the instructions and monitor for side effects. It's generally very safe and effective.

I used this for my daughter last year. It worked great and she didn't have any side effects. Just make sure to follow the instructions carefully. Good luck!

My kid had some stomach cramps, but nothing too bad. Just keep an eye out for any unusual symptoms. Also, make sure to clean the house thoroughly to prevent re-infection.

I had no idea this stuff was so effective. My kid was worm-free in no time. Just make sure to follow up with the doctor to make sure the infection is fully gone.

I'm a nurse and I've seen a few cases of severe reactions. If you notice any signs of an allergic reaction, don't wait—get to the ER immediately. Better safe than sorry.

My doctor said that the urgent side effects are rare, but I was still really nervous. Thankfully, my kid was fine. Just remember to report any side effects to the FDA if you experience them.
