I've recently been prescribed Sodium Chloride 7% Nebulizer Solution to help with the thick mucus in my lungs. I'm curious to hear from others who have used this treatment. How well does it work, and what are the common side effects? I've had some issues with allergies in the past, so I'm a bit nervous about potential reactions. Any tips on how to use the nebulizer effectively would also be greatly appreciated. I'm curious to know how this compares to other treatments like hypertonic saline or other nebulizer solutions. Thanks in advance for any insights!

I feel like this is a great solution for respiratory issues, but I’m also hesitant to use it regularly. I would hate to build up a tolerance to it. Anyone know if that’s a thing?

Just started using this and it's okay, but I've never felt any burning sensation like some of you mentioned. I think the trick is to add the solution gently if you're using a soft mist. I just have to be careful not to overdo it. I also make sure to drink plenty of water afterwards. It keeps my throat from drying out too much.

My doc recommended using a compressor nebulizer instead of the ultrasonic one. I didn't know there was a difference until then. The compressor ones seem to work better for this solution. They're also cheaper! Definitely worth looking into.

I've used this for years and it's honestly a lifesaver. I have cystic fibrosis, and this is one of the few things that really helps clear my lungs. I use it twice a day, every day. I've never had any serious side effects, just the occasional mild throat irritation. I always keep an inhaler on hand, just in case. It's so much easier to breathe after using it. I've tried other solutions, but nothing works as well as this.

Be careful, my friend had a bad reaction to it. He got hives and had to go to the ER. Here's hoping you don't have the same experience, but be ready just in case.

I've used it and it's been a game-changer. Make sure to clean your nebulizer regularly to avoid infections.

Make sure to report any side effects to the FDA. It's important for them to track this stuff. I had a mild reaction and reported it. Easy to do online.

I've heard that some people mix it with other meds in the nebulizer. Is that safe? I wouldn't want to risk any unwanted reactions.

I've been using sodium chloride for a while now, and while it helps with mucus, it can be a bit uncomfortable at first. You might feel a bit of a burn in your throat, but it gets better with time. Make sure not to rush through the treatment. I've found that sitting quietly and taking deep breaths helps a lot. Also, keep the medication in the fridge. It's a little more comfortable that way
