I was prescribed Sulfacetamide/sulfur 8/4% topical suspension for my persistent rosacea. I've tried other topical treatments, but my doctor claims this one is a good mix of antibacterial and drying agents. I'm just curious what others have experienced with this medication. How does it compare to other treatments you've tried? and are there any side effects I should be aware of?

I had a bad reaction to this. I started getting these weird patches all over my face and had to stop using it. Doc said my skin might be too sensitive.

I had to stop using this because it caused a weird reaction. My skin got so red and itchy, and it felt like it was burning. I had to see a doctor because it got so bad. I wish I could have used it longer because my skin felt clearer, but I couldn't take the irritation.

Be careful with this stuff. I read somewhere that it can cause pretty severe allergic reactions. I got it all over my face and ended up with a rash...

I've been using it for a while now and it's been great! My skin has cleared up a lot. I would recommend it to anyone who is struggling with acne or rosacea. If you're thinking about trying it, just be sure to patch test first and see how your skin reacts.

I've used this stuff for my acne and it worked wonders! It dried out my skin a bit, but that was expected. Just make sure to moisturize afterwards.

I've been using Sulfacetamide/sulfur for a few months now, and it's been a game-changer for my seborrheic dermatitis. It's not a miracle cure, but it definitely helps keep flare-ups under control. I've found that applying it before bed and leaving it on overnight works best for me. In the morning, I rinse it off and moisturize. It can be a bit drying, so I use a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer. Just be careful not to get it in your eyes—it stings like crazy! Also, a little goes a long way, so don't overdo it. I've had no major side effects, but I did experience some mild itching initially.

I've heard that sulfacetamide/sulfur can interact with other medications, so make sure to talk to your doctor about any other meds you're taking. I was on antibiotics for an infection and my doc said not to use this at the same time. They said it would make my skin extra sensitive.

I used this for a while and it seemed to help, but it was super drying. Like, desert-level dry. I had to stop using it because my skin was so irritated. It might be fine for some people, but I think it's too harsh for sensitive skin. I switched to a gentler topical and it's been better so far.

I used this for a while but it didn't seem to do much for me. I think my skin is too sensitive for it, so I switched to a different topical. I wish it worked better, but it just didn't seem to do anything for me. It does dry out my skin, and I didn't get any better. But it wasn't until I switched medications that I saw a difference.

I've also used it for rosacea, and it was okay. It wasn't as effective for me as some other treatments, and it can be a bit messy to apply. But it's definitely worth a try if you're struggling with rosacea or acne. I found it easier to use a cotton swab to apply it to specific spots rather than slathering it all over my face.
