I've recently been prescribed Travatan Z 0.004% Ophth Sol 2.5ml for glaucoma, and I'm a bit anxious about the potential side effects. The doctor says it should be taken once a day in the evening but it reads like the side effects are scary. Has anyone else used this medication? I'd love to hear about your experiences, both good and bad, and any tips you might have for managing side effects. I'm mostly worried about the more serious ones like changes in eyesight or allergic reactions but also the common ones like dry eyes. Did any of you experience eyelash changes? I've heard some people get excessive eyelash growth, is that true?

I've had no side effects so far. Just make sure to use it exactly as prescribed. Once a day in the evening. My doctor said it helps the medicine work better.

If you're really worried and can afford it, I'd suggest getting a second opinion. There are other eye drops out there that might work for you. I have a friend who switched to another medication because of the side effects and is doing great.

I'm on my second bottle now and I've noticed my eyelashes are getting darker and thicker. It's a bit weird, but I guess it's better than the alternative. Just be prepared for that. Also, avoid getting it on your skin. It has a tendency to stain.

I had a bad reaction to it. I noticed my eyelashes started to grow excessively. I had to stop using it and switch to something else. I wish I had known about the eyelash changes beforehand.

I switched to this because the other one was not working. I think the only side effect I would be very nervous about is the change in eye color. I've never seen something like that coming from a medication.
