I was recently prescribed Trifluridine 1% Ophth Soln 7.5ml to treat herpes simplex keratitis. I've never had an eye infection before, let alone one caused by a virus, so I'm a bit nervous. The doctor explained that it's an antiviral eye drop that stops the virus from growing and spreading, but I'm curious to hear from others who have used it. How effective was it for you? Did you experience any side effects? Any tips on how to make the application process easier? I've read that it can cause burning or stinging, so I'm a bit concerned about that. Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences!

I had to use these drops for a month, and it was tough. The burning sensation never really went away, but the infection cleared up. It's also important to wash your hands before and after using the drops.

I had a similar experience. Trifluridine worked well, but the side effects were annoying. Just remember to use it as prescribed and give it time to work. Good luck!

I had a horrible allergic reaction to it. My eye swelled up like a balloon. Not fun. Definitely talk to your doctor if you notice any weird symptoms.

I found that using the drops right before bed helped. That way, I could sleep through the initial burning sensation. It took about a week for my symptoms to improve.

Just a heads up, the drops can make your vision a bit blurry for a few minutes after application. Nothing too bad, but it's something to be aware of. I made the mistake of trying to drive right after using them, not fun

I had no idea this was an option for herpes simplex keratitis. My doctor prescribed something else, but I wish I'd known about this earlier. Thanks for the info!
