Has anyone used Urea 40% Cream 85gm for very dry, scaly skin? share your experience!
I've been struggling with very dry, rough, and scaly skin on my feet and elbows for months now. My dermatologist prescribed Urea 40% Cream 85gm, saying it would help soften and loosen the hardened skin. I've started using it, but I'm curious to hear from others who have tried it. How long did it take to see results? Did you experience any side effects? I'm particularly concerned about the potential for allergic reactions. Any insights or tips would be greatly appreciated!

I've never had any problems with an allergic reaction, but it can be pretty harsh on the skin if you're not careful. Home remedies like a foot soak in epsom salt can help after using.
The burning sensation is to be expected at first, but it will go away after a few days. The more you use it, the more your skin will get used to it.
I've used Urea on and off for years because I have psoriasis. It helps, but it can be drying if you're not careful. It can also be helpful if you're doing any medical procedures on your skin. The psoriasis I have is on my body, so I just do a thin coat and do not scrub. My doctor says it's good for the skin as well as aiding in the healing process for scratches or scrapes. I've never had an issue with an allergic reaction, but I'm not sensitive to a lot of products.
I've had great results, but I do tend to wash it off with a warm washcloth to avoid irritation. My skin's very sensitive and this helps a lot! I have an autoimmune disease and I'm very cautious with anything I put on my skin.
Be careful with this stuff. I had a terrible reaction to it and ended up with a rash all over my legs. It was horrible. I had to go to the doctor and get some steroid cream to calm it down. Don't be like me; test it on a small area first.
I've been using Urea 40% cream for about a month now and it's been amazing. I've had chronic dry skin on my heels and it's finally starting to improve. The products really helps soften the skin so that I can exfoliate and apply a moisturizer. It also makes my skin feel more hydrated over the day. It's well worth the investment.
I wish I had found this cream sooner! It's been a game-changer for my dry, scaly skin. I use it every night before bed and in the morning, and it's made a huge difference.
Has anyone else had to break out the hydrocortisone or antihistamine because of this stuff? Not fun.
I've been using it for a week and my skin feels so much smoother. I did experience a bit of burning at first, but it went away after a few days. Just make sure to moisturize the area after applying.
