Has anyone used Vit A/c/d/fl 0.5mg Drops for their kids? How did they respond?
I've been considering giving my toddler Vit A/c/d/fl 0.5mg Drops to support their growth and immune system, but I'm a bit hesitant due to the potential side effects. The drops contain vitamins A, C, D, and fluoride, which are all beneficial, but I've heard a few horror stories about allergic reactions and other issues. Has anyone here had experience with this supplement? I'd love to hear about how your kids responded to it and if you noticed any improvements in their health. Also, how did you handle the drops? Did you mix them with food or give them straight? And what about the fluoride? I know it's good for teeth but should I be worried about too much fluoride? How did you navigate that? Any input would be greatly appreciated!

I think people overreact to side effects sometimes. I've given these drops to all three of my kids and never had an issue. Just follow the instructions and you'll be fine. Doctors stuff is not a Mickey Mouse thing, I promise -they have a hard job and they know what they are doing. Plus these drops are FDA approved. And if you look at the warnings they are all common sense stuff, nothing to worry about. Now stop worrying, and just give the kiddos they need.
I mix it with some baby food to make sure they get it all down. They have never had any issues with it, but I watch them closely for any signs of trouble. I think the benefits outweigh the risks, but i do keep a close eye out.
I gave them to my baby and noticed that their teeth seemed a bit discolored. I contacted the doctor just to be safe and she said it was probably a coincidence but to stop just in case. I switched to a different supplements but the new ones did not contain fluoride. I did not think that was a problem but i now worry. The teeth are important after all. Going to ask the doc next time we go in.
I tried these drops with my little one, but they caused an allergic reaction. My child had a rash and hives, I immediately stopped giving it and called the doctor. I had to take them to the ER to get some antihistamines and for observation. We stuck to natural food sources after that. YMMV, but be careful! If you see any signs of an allergic reaction, trust your instincts and get medical help right away.
Why would you give your kid fluoride drops? Isn't that just asking for dental fluorosis? I just stick to vitamins A, C, and D. What about cod liver oil?
I noticed my kid had some upset stomach when I first started giving them this vitamin supplement. Call the doctor? Nah, I just stopped for a week and started again at a lower dose. They were fine after that. No vomiting or anything. My understanding is that if it only makes them sick the first few days, it is probably okay. I mean, they can have a sensitive tummy.
I used these drops for my twins and they had no issues at all. I give this with a spoon before bed and they slept just fine. It's been a lifesaver for their immune system. I swear they get sick less often since we started. I do make sure to check their teeth and gums regularly, though, because of warnings. I think it's a small price to pay for the peace of mind. As to the fluoride question, again, it's a low dose and beneficial. Unless your kids are drinking fluoridated water, they may actually need it.
I had this exact conversation with my pediatrician. He said the dosage is fine and that fluoride is actually good for kids under 2. I stopped worrying about it and just followed the instructions. My child is perfectly fine too.
I'm a pediatrician and I recommend these drops for kids who don't get enough vitamin D. Just make sure to follow the dosage instructions carefully. Too much vitamin A can be toxic, but at the prescribed dose, it's safe and effective. The fluoride content is low and beneficial for dental health, do not worry about it. Trust me, if there was a real concern, we would not prescribe this to hundreds of children.
